Longevity Asset Advisors (“LAA”) was founded in 2009. Our principals, Chris Conway and Mike Graviss possess 50+ years of combined experience gained through active engagement in nearly every sector of the life settlement industry.

For over thirty years, Chris has been a key executive in a number of life settlement businesses. He has served in an operational and managerial capacity as a senior executive in every sector of the industry. He has hired, educated, trained, and managed skilled professionals in every role the industry has to offer, and he has advised, guided and served several of the industry’s premier companies on both strategic and tactical levels.

As co-founder of LAA, Chris is fully committed to the business and particularly to the evolution of the industry beyond the status quo. Having participated in most of the industry’s past, he remains focused on the future and dedicated to the continual pursuit of effective, efficient and profitable opportunities to grow LAA and the life markets.

With nearly three decades of industry experience, Chris’s career is a rich tapestry of strategic innovation, entrepreneurial spirit, and a steadfast commitment to the life settlement industry. From his beginnings in the life settlement business in 1991, Chris has become an influential figure, guiding premier industry companies and fostering global business relationships.

Chris has developed and managed business relationships in the US, Europe, Asia and Latin America. He has presented to insureds, investors, professional associations, competitors and peers at industry functions around the globe. He has initiated, developed and managed relationships throughout the community of insurance, financial services, underwriting, capital markets, banking and other intra-industry service providers associated with life insurance assets. Chris has a demonstrated track record for applying disciplined, critical thinking and constant, diligent, tenacious effort to everything he does.

His success-driven approach to managing life settlement activities and operations is based on his personal experience actually doing the work required by each role and each step in the life settlement process from policy sourcing to post-purchase administration and everything in between. He is familiar with and skilled in the development and use of systems, processes, procedures, and best practices applicable to every aspect of the business.

As a result, he is always focused on the bottom line and seeking the right outcome. He is a detail-oriented, highly organized, strategic thinking entrepreneur willing to “walk-the-walk” and he knows what works and what doesn’t.

Michael Graviss

MANAGING DIRECTOR

A 20-year veteran of the life insurance and life settlement industry, Mike has applied his analytical and operational aptitudes to the benefit of several life settlement operations as a senior executive and principal. He has designed, developed and implemented systems, trained and managed personnel with diverse skill sets and supported a diverse array of clients operating in the life risk markets.

Bringing Clarity to the Complex World of Life Settlements

ABOUT MICHAEL GRAVISS

Mike was recruited by a European investment company to manage operations for an Atlanta-based life settlement platform which he did successfully until 2009 when he was promoted to COO of the firm. Following the owner’s decision to withdraw from the US marketplace, Mike co-founded Longevity Asset Advisors, LLC (LAA) and focused his entrepreneurial instincts on the life contingent markets.

Mike’s analytical skills, combined with over 15 years of life insurance and financial services experience, augment his comprehensive grasp of the primary, secondary, and tertiary markets for life insurance.

He has been personally involved in the execution of more than 500 transactions involving the full spectrum of secondary and tertiary market assets including policy-by-policy life settlement origination, portfolio purchase and sale transactions, beneficial interest transfers, and a variety of premium finance-related processes. His approach is always practical, to-the-point and based on solid evidence and extensive analysis.

Mike’s ability to think strategically and function tactically adds an additional measure of competence to the services LAA provides its clients. He has been instrumental in establishing and operating profitable life settlement companies from developing the necessary infrastructure to implementation of workflow processes, regulatory compliance, origination procedures including transaction execution, and post-purchase administration.

He is equally skilled with quantitative and qualitative analysis as it relates to life insurance assets and portfolios thereof and has been called upon as an expert witness in support of complex litigation involving life settlement policies and related matters. His ability to identify opportunities and discern how best to approach the execution of strategies intended to benefit the company’s clients brings fresh perspective to LAA’s business.
